A teenager has died after a collision in Wigan on the August Bank Holiday weekend

A man who was abducted from Manchester over the weekend has been found.

At around 4.40pm on Sunday 30 August 2020, police attended at the scene of a collision on Warrington Road in Ince, near to the junction with Dale Street.

Enquiries established that an 18-year-old man on an orange KTM 200 EXC off-road bike had sustained serious injuries after colliding with a tree.

Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he sadly died on Sunday 13 September 2020.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Sergeant Darren Hancock, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “My thoughts go to the young man’s family and friends who are absolutely devastated after this tragic loss.

“Our job as to ascertaining the circumstances behind this incident continue and we are again appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who were travelling in the area at the time of the incident to come forward with information.

“Also, anyone with dash cam footage from around the area at the time of incident is of particular interest to our investigation and we plead with them to make contact so we can ensure the victim’s family get the answers they need.”
