Advice for Clone Roses concert goers
With cases of Covid-19 still increasing in Halton and the surrounding areas, Halton Borough Council is asking everyone attending the Clone Roses concert at Spike Island on Saturday 24 July, to take some simple precautions to keep themselves and others safe:
- Get a test: everyone attending is encouraged to take rapid symptom free test using Lateral Flow Tests (LFT) with 24hrs of the event – even if they have had both doses of the Covid-19 vaccination. If the result is positive follow up with a PCR test.
- Do not attend: if you have tested positive for coronavirus within the 10 days before the event or if you have been in contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus within the last 10 days
- Stay at home: and book a PCR test if you have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19 such as a high temperature, a new continuous cough or loss or change to sense of smell
- Be aware of other associated symptoms: if you’re feeling generally unwell with a headache, a stuffed or runny nose, tiredness or weakness, aches and pains, sore throat or diarrhoea, take an LFT and follow up with a PCR test if the LFT test is positive.
- Wear a face covering: if you are travelling to the site on public transport, especially if it is crowded.
- Be kind and considerate: some people may feel a bit more nervous about being back in a crowded situation after so long, so please be respectful if someone chooses to wear a face covering, or prefers to keep a distance
Halton’s Director of Public Health said:
“We’ve all missed live music and enjoying good times with our friends, but we still need to be sensible and remain cautious, especially as our infection rates are high at the moment and not all of our population are fully vaccinated.
“Doing a test before you attend, even if you’ve had both doses of the vaccination, will provide reassurance that you are not unknowingly spreading the virus.”
“It has been a long time since people have been able to meet in this sort of environment, so I’d encourage everyone to be kind to each other and be mindful that some around them, could be struggling or feeling anxious.”
