Appeal after assault in St Helens

We are appealing for information after a man sustained serious facial injuries during an assault in St Helens on Monday night (15 June 2020).

It was reported the 20-year-old man was assaulted between 11-11.30pm at Sankey Canal in an incident which continued onto Parr Street car park, opposite KFC in St Helens.

It is believed the victim may have been struck with a piece of wood. He received treatment in hospital before being discharged on Tuesday.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw anything suspicious or who may have heard since who is responsible is asked to contact police, or Crimestoppers anonymously.
