Appeal following stabbing in Wirral

Detectives are appealing for information following a stabbing in Wirral this morning (24 November).

At around 4.50am we received reports of a man in his 20s who was found with stab wounds on Union Street, Wallasey after an altercation with two men.

Emergency services were at the scene and the victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in a stable condition.

The men are reported to have ran off from the scene in the direction of Rice Lane. 

Detectives have opened a full investigation, including house-to-house, witness and CCTV enquiries.

Detective Inspector Mike Fletcher said: “This is an appalling attack, and we are urging anyone with any information to come forward so we can to find the people responsible and bring them to justice.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries in the area to see if anyone had witnessed the incident or has any information that can help with our enquiries.

“This incident took place around Union Street and Guildford Street in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 24 November), so if you were in the vicinity with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell camera footage at the time of the incident and saw anything, then please let us know.

“We will take positive action to remove those who use weapons to cause fear and violence I order to keep our streets safe.”
