Appeal for information following fatal RTC on New Chester Road, Rock Ferry

We are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Rock Ferry, Wirral, yesterday evening (Friday 19 March).

At around 7.20pm emergency services were called to reports that a motorbike had been in collision with a silver Mercedes on New Chester Road near to the junction with Procter Road.

The rider of the motorbike, an 18-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he was sadly died from his injuries.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist Roads Policing officers.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and is assisting Police with their enquiries.

Road closures were in place in the area following the incident, however all roads have since re-opened.

Sergeant Martin Mayne from Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision or may have been in the area at the time especially if your vehicle is fitted with a dashcam or you have CCTV footage from your home or business which may have captured vital evidence.

“Specialist officers are supporting the family of the deceased young man at this time and I request anyone that may be able to assist with our enquiries contact us as soon as possible.”
