Appeal for information following damage caused to Real Madrid team bus

Police are currently in attendance in Walton following an incident this morning (Tuesday 27 July).

At around 1.20am patrols on Grey Road located a male victim with multiple stab wounds. The victim stated he had been stabbed by a group of 5 unknown males.

An Audi A3 was also located next to the victim with three males locked inside.

The victim was taken to hospital for his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Officers at the scene located a knife and a sheath of a machete on Barton Road.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and anyone with any information is asked to get in touch with police.

Officers will remain in the area while CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries are carried out.

Detective Inspector Paul Jones said: “We are in the very early stages of an investigation into an appalling attack this morning and we would appeal for anyone with any information to come forward.

“Whether you come forward directly or anonymously, your information could be vital to help bring those responsible to justice. If you saw anything or anyone suspicious in the Rice Lane area, or captured anything on mobile phone or dashcam them please let us know.

“Knife crime has no place whatsoever in our communities and we rely on members of the public coming forward with information about such incidents to keep our streets safer. Please tell us what you know and we will take action.”
