Appeal for information following Warrington assault

Police are appealing for information from the public after a woman was assaulted in Warrington.

At 7.19am on Wednesday 30 November Police were called to reports that a woman had been assaulted at the junction of Norris Street and Hallfields Road, in Orford.

The caller reported that an unknown man had approached a woman and touched her inappropriately.

The victim shouted for help and the suspect ran off in the direction of Smith Drive.

The suspect was described as a young man and around 5’ 6” tall, he was wearing a dark tracksuit and a dark puffer jacket.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with any information to get in touch.

Detective Sergeant Rob Massey said:

“I understand the concern that this incident is likely to cause, and I would like to reassure residents that we are doing all we can to trace the person responsible.

“The victim in the case is being provided with specialist support and as part of our investigation we’re keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

“The same goes for anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage which may aid our investigation.”
