Appeal after boy has his bicycle stolen in Widnes robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a fail to stop collision in Macclesfield.

A car and cyclist were involved in the collision which occurred on The Silk Road between the junctions of Brooks street and Windmill Street.

It took place at around 00:50am on Sunday 20 December.

Shortly afterwards the driver of a red car fled the scene.

The cyclist, a 47-year-old man from Macclesfield, was impacted by the collision and sustained serious but not life threatening injuries.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance and has since been discharged.

Officers have been conducting a number of enquiries and are encouraging anyone who may have information or dash cam footage to come forward.

PC Mike Davis, from Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said: “The cyclist suffered serious injuries and we have been following a number of lines of enquiry to establish the circumstances.

“As part of the investigation I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, and may have information, to get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may know the identity of the driver to contact us and for the driver themselves to come forward.”
