Appeal for witnesses following armed robbery at convenience store in Orford

Officers are appealing for more information after armed thieves stole a man’s van in Tyldelsey

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Orford.

At 9.10pm on Monday 15 June offenders attacked the cash machine on Orford Lane before fleeing in a car.

A black Seat-Leon was located abandoned on Ditton Road at the junction with Hale Road.

Two men, aged 26 and 31, were located in Widnes a short time later.

They have been arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and remain in police custody.

A 23-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and she is in custody.

Detective Sergeant Tom Hall, from Warrington Local Policing Unit, said: “Our investigation is progressing well and we currently have three people in custody waiting to be questioned.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who not only has information on the robbery in Orford but if they saw people run away from the car in Widnes.

“Also, if you have CCTV or dash cam footage please submit it through to us.”
