Halton Borough Council Trading Standards is warning consumers of scam emails purporting to be from Argos offering free Dyson products (see pic)
These emails are NOT from Argos, they are from an email address ending in privateanswer.cloud.
A Halton Borough Council Trading Standards Spokesman said: “It is not clear what Dyson products they are claiming ‘minimize the risk of infection in your home’, but these statements are likely designed to play to people’s fears regarding the Covid-19 virus.
“As per normal with these types of emails, they want something in return and that will likely be your personal details (and maybe your bank details too). ”
Finally, we would be suspicious of any emails signed off by a person who works for the ‘Official Anti Corona team’!
