We have today, Friday 21st January, welcomed the sentencing of a 24 year-old Bootle man for multiple fraud offences totalling over £85,000.
Louis Culshaw, of Litherland Road, was found guilty of 14 offences of fraud following a nine day trial at Liverpool Crown Court.
The fraud involved a member of his own family, an insolvency service and numerous loan companies.
The court was told that Culshaw set up numerous fake location applications under different names and gained access to a family member’s bank account and spent money on furniture, dental work and clothing.
Today he was jailed for two years and three months.
Detective Sergeant James Starkey said: “This was a complex case that required detailed investigation.
“Culshaw chose to deny the offences but the jury saw through his lies and convicted him of 14 offences. He will now serve a period of time behind bars.
“Defrauding anyone is a heinous and despicable crime – but to target a family member is particularly despicable.
“We regularly visit the victims of fraud at home to provide additional support and advice to help prevent further offences.
