Business Conference sets out road to recovery

Time Square will play host to businesses from across the borough on 12 November for the Warrington Business Conference 2021.

With a theme of ‘The Road to Recovery’, the event will bring companies together to find out more about Warrington’s continuing regeneration plans and support for business growth.

Delegates will hear from a range of speakers, including The Rt Hon Kwasi Kwarteng, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, who will talk about the government’s plans for post-Covid economic recovery.

Other speakers include Managing Director of Warrington and Co, John Laverick and Deputy Vice Chancellor and Provost, University of Chester, Prof. Helen O’Sullivan.  There will be panel sessions looking at support for business growth and the green revolution – why sustainable and environmentally friendly practices will help support economic recovery.

Hosted in the new Time Square development, the event will give guests the opportunity to explore and enjoy the stunning, multi-million pound initiative for themselves, including walking tours of the venue.

The conference will utilise three Time Square venues – the Cookhouse at Warrington Market for delegate registration & refreshments, the Cineworld Superscreen auditorium for presentations and the Botanist for networking & lunch.

Warrington Borough Council Leader, Cllr Russ Bowden, said: “This event will give our business community the chance to find out more about our ambitions to drive forward Warrington’s economic recovery and to create the environment in which they can thrive and grow, now and in the future.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to hear from business leaders, share ideas and network with companies from across the borough. Time Square, a real symbol of Warrington’s ongoing renaissance, is the perfect setting for the event, as we look ahead to a successful future. Make sure you sign up for the event and be part of the discussions.”

Cabinet member for economic development and innovation, Cllr Tom Jennings, said: “Our business community has shown real positivity, adaptability and a willingness to work together to overcome the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, as we look to the future, it’s vital that this strong dialogue continues.

“This event will reinforce our support for, and engagement with, local businesses, providing them with the opportunity to network, learn about our ongoing regeneration plans and find out more about how we can support them, as we move forward, together, on the road to recovery.”
