The council’s Cabinet meeting tomorrow, Wednesday 27 May, 6pm will be broadcast live via Microsoft Teams. Meeting attendees and members of the public will be able to follow the meeting entirely remotely as the council continues to adopt new ways of working amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision to live stream Cabinet via Microsoft Teams follows the recent development management committee, which was successfully broadcast live.
Anyone with a device that can connect to the internet will be able to view the meeting from the council’s website. New legislation means that councils can now hold meetings flexibly to protect those who would normally physically attend the meeting from the virus.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Russ Bowden, said: “Cabinet will be another remote meeting where committee members, staff and residents can watch live.
“It’s important that we continue to conduct as much normal business as possible to ensure decisions don’t grind to a halt, and I’m pleased that we’ve all adapted to these new ways of working. As with other key council committees and meetings, we can’t take the risk of having a physical meeting, because we should still be doing all we can to observe the national guidance and stay at home where possible.”
