CCTV appeal after boy injured in road traffic collision

We are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Norris Green on Wednesday 7 December that has left a young boy with a serious head injury.

At around 3.10pm, Merseyside Police received reports of a collision involving a grey Ford Kuga, and a 10-year-old boy on Muirhead Avenue East.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the incident and is helping the Police with enquiries. 

The boy was taken to hospital with a serious injury to his head and is now recovering at home.

The investigation is being managed by the Matrix Roads Policing Department.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision and officers have now released CCTV footage of two pedestrians – a young girl and a woman who may have witnessed the collision take place on Muirhead Avenue East, on Wednesday afternoon.

Inspector Mark Worrall said: “We are keen to trace these two pedestrians, as we believe they may be key witnesses and could have important information that may assist our investigation. I must stress that these are witnesses and not involved in the collision. We would also like to appeal to anyone else who witnessed the incident to please get in touch.

“Also, could we ask people to review any dashcam footage or CCTV footage from Muirhead Avenue East or the surrounding area at the relevant time, and if they discover anything that will assist please contact us.”
