CCTV appeal following assault in Liverpool

We have issued CCTV images of two men we believe may have information that could assist enquiries into an assault in Liverpool.

At around 12.15am on Saturday 28 August a man was assaulted by two other men whilst with his friends outside a takeaway at the junction of Bold Street and Slater Street in Liverpool.

The victim and his friends were approached by two men who punched him three times before he fell to floor. They then kicked him in the head which caused several facial fractures and a bleed on his brain.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment straight after the attack and is now recovering at home.

CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out near Bold Street and Slater Street and detectives have issued CCTV images of two men they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: “Thankfully the man’s injuries are not life threatening and he is now recovering at home, but this was still a horrible attack for him to endure that could have left him gravely injured.

“Since the incident occurred, we have carried out a number of CCTV and witness enquiries and would like to appeal to anyone who recognises these men or saw the attack to come forward and speak to us as we believe they could help with our enquiries.”
