Continued appeal for information following assault on Lodge Lane

Next of kin appeal: Mr Kwok Lau

We are appealing for information following an assault at the junction of Lodge Lane and Van Dyke Street in Toxteth on Friday (19 November).

Officers were contacted at just before 2.20pm following reports the man, who is in his 30s, had suffered a stab wound to the back.

An ambulance was called to the scene and the man was taken to hospital for a non-life threatening injury. He has now been discharged.

CCTV and witness enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is urged to contact police.

Detective Inspector Ben Dyer said:  “We are investigating an attack on Lodge Lane last week which left a man injured, fortunately not more seriously.

“Knife crime has no place in our communities. If you saw this incident, captured anything or have heard information since, we want to hear from you now.

“Similarly, if you were driving along Lodge Lane on Friday afternoon and have dashcam footage then please review it and if you see anything let us know.

“We rely on members of the public coming forward with information about such incidents to keep our streets safer.

“Please pass on any information you have and we’ll take positive action to remove those who use weapons to cause fear and harm in our communities from our streets.”

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 21000805284.

You can also pass information via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or their online form at https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously.
