Detectives appeal for footage and witnesses following robbery in Widnes

Appeal after boy has his bicycle stolen in Widnes robbery

Detectives are appealing for footage and witnesses to come forward following a robbery in Widnes.

At around 7pm on Thursday 22 September a man was walking along the A557 Watkinson Way towards Crow Wood Park when two men approached him.

The two men threatened the man and demanded his watch.

After the victim gave them the item, they fled the area towards Moorfields Sports and Social Club.

The watch is described as an Omega SeaMaster Planet Ocean with a black face and orange quarter on the bezel.

Both suspects are believed to be aged around 16 to 18-years old and of medium build.

The first suspect had blonde/red coloured wavy hair and at the time of the incident was wearing a green tracksuit.

The second was wearing a green hooded top with a fur peak and blue tracksuit bottoms.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Detective Constable Sam Rimmer said: “Officers have been undertaking a number of enquiries in the local area in relation to this incident.

“Although the man was not injured during the incident, it has understandably left him shaken up and we are doing all we can to find those responsible.

“As such, we are appealing to anyone who may have captured dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV footage from the surrounding areas at the time of the incident to come forward.

“The same goes to anyone who was in the area and believes that they may have seen something that didn’t look quite right or may know who is responsible.”

Any information can be reported to Cheshire Police via the Cheshire Police website quoting IML 1372628 or call 101.
