Detectives are appealing for information following a shooting in Maghull on Thursday 17 November, which was reported at the weekend.

At around 9.30am on Saturday 19 November, it was reported that bullet holes had been found in two cars on Bridge Road.

Further enquiries in the area established that a shooting took place on the road on Thursday 17 November at around 8.15pm.

There are no reports of anyone being injured and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Grounds from our Firearm Investigations Team said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area shortly before 8.15pm on Thursday night and witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious, to contact police as soon as possible. We have spoken to people in the local area but are sure that more information is out there.

“Although this incident was not reported at the time, we are looking to piece together the circumstances and find those responsible. If you have any dashcam or doorbell footage, please review it and let us know if you see anything that may assist our enquiries.

“Firearms have absolutely no place on our streets and we are committed to removing them and the people who choose to carry them. Any gun fired in our communities has the potential to cause devastation. It is essential that we get all information from communities who are left feeling the impact of gun crime, so we can bring those responsible to justice.

“Speak to us directly or anonymously and we will take firm action to remove dangerous weapons from our communities.”

Anyone who witnessed the shooting on Thursday night or has CCTV footage and any information about what happened is asked to contact police.
