Detectives appeal for information following burglary in Widnes

Detectives are appealing for information and footage following a burglary in Widnes.

Between 7.30pm to 7.40pm on Wednesday 8 March, four unknown men gained entry to a property on Hale Road and demanded money.

They made threats to the occupants before taking a quantity of money and leaving the address.

It is believed that the men were in possession of a knife and a hammer. The men were all wearing face coverings.

Officers are now appealing to anyone who may have information or footage to get in touch.

Detective Sergeant Lee Connor said: “We are in the early stages of investigating the circumstances of this incident which has left the occupants extremely shaken by the ordeal.

“We are doing all we can to locate those responsible and as such have been conducting several enquiries in the local area.

“As part of our enquiries, we are appealing to anyone in the Hale Road and Royal Avenue areas who may have witnessed something which may be linked to contact police.

“I would ask anyone in these areas to check any CCTV and doorbell footage and contact us.

“Also, I would urge anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the incident, to check any dashcam footage they have and to please get in touch as it may be vital to our investigation.”
