DPD LOCAL SCAM TEXT MESSAGES

DPD LOCAL SCAM TEXT MESSAGES

Halton Trading Standards is warning people of DPD Local scam text messages about rescheduling their parcels.

If you have missed a parcel from DPD, you may receive a text message similar to the one below. The key point to note is the website link in the text message is a scam – the differences between this and the genuine DPD website addresses are subtle, but they are vital.

Clicking the link in the text message will simply take you to a scam website which requires you to provide your personal details and banking details and will not help you in getting your parcel.

DPD Local notification links should always be either www.dpd.co.uk/ or www.dpdlocal.co.uk/

Report any suspicious text messages to the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre by forwarding them to 7726 (this is free of charge).

If you or somebody you know has been caught out by a scam or fraud please contact one of our specialist officers, Linda or Sue on 0151 511 8785 or 0151 511 8775, who are already working with people in Halton who have lost thousands of pounds to scams.

If you need advice on anything else please contact the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline  or 0808 223 1133.
