Easter recycling and waste collections in St Helens Borough

Share your views on waste and recycling in new customer survey

With the long Easter Bank Holiday weekend to look forward to, there’s always that little bit of confusion in households about recycling and waste collections.

But there’s no need to anxiously wait to see which bins your neighbours are putting out.

Collection crews won’t be working on Good Friday, 2 April, but will carry out those collections on Saturday 3 April to catch up.

The following week, crews won’t be working on Easter Monday, 5 April. Those collections will roll over to Tuesday 6 April, with the service operating a day behind up to and including Saturday 10 April.

Collections will then resume as normal from Monday 12 April.

If you’re still unsure, the easiest way to check your collection dates is to enter your postcode online at www.sthelens.gov.uk/collections.

Please have your recycling and waste out for collection from 6:30am.

Residents are advised that due to the expected increase in recycling tonnage some recycling collections may be done via a normal rear-loading bin wagon, with comingled recyclables sent on for sorting and recycling. In this event food waste will be collected separately.

Please also be mindful of parking in your street. With so many of us at home, please be considerate and avoid double-parking to ensure that collection vehicles, as well as emergency services, can reach every house unobstructed.
