Firearms team appeal for cyclists after innocent home caught in shooting crossfire

We’re on the hunt to find the offenders as well as a cyclist who we believe was the intended target of a shooting that occurred on Sunday 13th June.

We were called to Reeds Road at around 7.10pm to reports that a house had been shot at. Luckily, no one was harmed, however two cars and a residential property were damaged in the crossfire.

The following day, a 39 year old woman was arrested for possession of a Section 1 firearm. She was released under investigation on 15th June.

As our investigations continue, we’re asking for the publics help to find the two men dressed in all black who we believe were the offenders and the man seen on the push bike (in the blue top) who we believe was the intended target.

DCI Matt Smith said “Please come forward if you know who any of these people are. On this occasion, innocent members of the public have had their property and cars damaged – imagine if that car or house was a person instead, the outcome could have been devastating.

“I am thankful no one was injured, but that doesn’t make this any less shocking. The residents whose property have been damaged had nothing to do with this yet they are feeling the after effects of this heinous crime.

“Tell us who the real target of this crime was. This will help us find out why this shooting has taken place and how we can stop another from happening.

“So, if you have information about this incident, get in contact with reference 21000413916 – call us, DM us on social media or report completely anonymously via Crimestoppers.
