Five men charged in connection with serious and organised crime offences

Man charged with four offences following incident in Widnes

Detectives have charged five men in connection with serious and organised crime offences.

Martin Clibery, 47, of Sutton Way, Great Sutton was charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs (heroin and crack cocaine).

Anthony Evans, 49, of Green Street, Liverpool was charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply a class A drug (heroin and crack cocaine) and possession with intent to supply a class A drug (heroin and crack cocaine).

James Monaghan, 27, of Ruabon Road, Wrexham was charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs (heroin and crack cocaine).

Macauley Smith, 24, of Hallwood Walk, Ellesmere Port was charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs (heroin and cocaine)

Jan-Peter Wharton, 57, of Somerville Crescent, Ellesmere Port was charged with with two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin).

All five were remanded in custody and appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Thursday 13 May.

A 47-year-old woman from Liverpool was released under investigation pending further enquiries.

The charges relate to arrests made on Wednesday 12 May at five addresses across Ellesmere Port, Liverpool and North Wales.
