GATEWAY GOES GREEN FOR OUR PARKS

MERSEY GATEWAY CROSSINGS BOARD LAUNCHES CONSULTATION OVER NEW RUCSO

Halton Borough Council is supporting the #GoGreenForParks for the Green Flag Awards national announcement on Wednesday 14 October, with the Mersey Gateway turning emerald for the evening.

It joins more than 50 locations planning to light buildings, structures and parks in green to celebrate great quality parks and green spaces. From nationally recognised buildings such as Media City in Salford, to town halls and civic buildings.

Halton Borough Council had a summer celebrating it’s parks, with people sending in their love for our public spaces and the staff who keep them nice, using the hashtag #LoveHaltonsParks

The aim was to encourage pride in the parks so people would be less likely to drop litter and increase respect for park workers in Halton.

Various projects were announced to improve the parks, including a ‘green corridor’ for Victoria Park and a range of projects for Runcorn Town Park.
