HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL PROVIDING FREE SCHOOL MEALS VOUCHERS FOR HALF-TERM

HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL PLEDGE TO KEEP CHILDREN FED DURING THE CHRISTMAS SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Halton Borough Council is reassuring parents that free school meals vouchers will be provided for eligible children over the February half-term.

All children eligible for free school meals will receive a voucher to buy food, paid from the Government’s Covid Winter Grant Scheme to support vulnerable families and individuals between December and March 2021.

The vouchers, which can be used in major local supermarkets, will be distributed by schools who will contact parents directly.

Cllr Phil Harris, the Council’s portfolio holder for School Meals, says: ‘’We want to reassure people that schoolchildren will not go without  food over the half-term holiday.  Also we have frozen the price of a Halton Council school meal (£2.50) for the year 2021-22, for the second year running.”
