Joint investigation launched following suspected arson in Kirkdale

We can confirm that detectives are investigating a suspected arson in Kirkdale on Wednesday 29 June.
 
At around 11.50am, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) and Merseyside Police were called to Delamore Street to reports of a house fire, which caused significant damage but no injuries.
 
An investigation has commenced alongside MFRS, and the incident is being treated as deliberate. CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact detectives.
 
Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said: “Thankfully nobody was injured as a result of what this dangerous and deliberate act. Significant damage was however caused, bringing with it the risk to the lives of those who live nearby. Arson can have a devastating impact on communities and we’re determined to find those responsible and put them before the courts.
 
“If you live locally or were passing by, please check your dashcam and CCTV in case those involved were captured. If you saw anyone acting suspiciously or making off at speed from the area around 11.45am yesterday, come forward too. Your information could be vital.”
