Liverpool’s first Renegade Rally Success

Event Date : 07th August 2020

Liverpool’s first consumer accessible rally took place last week. The four day event started at the picturesque Hilton Hotel and finished in the Scottish Highlands, seeing the drivers cover 1,300 miles.

Renegade Rally  is the UK’s newest and most diverse car rally and the first event of it’s kind to start from Liverpool, then heading up through the North of England via the famous NC500 to the Scottish Highlands. The NC500, is the UK’s answer to Route 66, it’s a beautiful scenic drive, popular with many driving and car enthusiasts. The drivers stopped off at 6 key places along the way; the Lake District, Clackmannanshire, Inverness, Gairloch, Ullapool and Thurso, finishing the drive in Inverness.

Director, 20 year old Alex Karalius, set up Renegade Rally at the start of 2020 with the view of holding 3 events a year. However, in February he had to cancel the first event due to the coronavirus global pandemic.

Alex commented ‘I’ve been a huge fan of Top Gear since I was a child and I’ve attended many rallies and car festivals. My love for all cars was the driver for me to set up my own business, involving something I enjoy and I am passionate about. I wanted to create an event that was accessible for all types of cars and budgets, as many of the similar events out there are very ‘elitist’ and can be expensive, therefore making them inaccessible for many.’

‘I couldn’t have wished for my first event to have gone better, the drive was spectacular and we were so lucky with the weather too as we carved our way through the Highland trails!’

Due to the success of the first Renegade Rally, Alex is now working on putting together the next one and also looking to take them further afield to Europe.
