Man arrested in connection with Garston shooting

Reported Covid breach at Everton Park Sports Centre

A man was arrested yesterday (Wednesday 21 July) in connection with a shooting in Garston in May.

At around 1.45pm on 11 May, armed officers were called to Chesterton Street to reports of shots being fired. Evidence of a shooting was found in the street but nobody was reported as injured.

Yesterday, officers carried out a warrant and a 27-year-old man from Prescot was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, as well as on suspicion of possession of Class A drug (cocaine) and a Class B drug (cannabis).

He has been released under investigation while further enquiries into the incident continue.
