Man charged after class A drugs seized at Warrington railway station

Substantial amounts of class A drugs and cash seized in Widnes

A man from Liverpool has been charged with drug dealing offences after officers seized a quantity of class A drugs at a railway station in Warrington.

Michael Shield, of no fixed address, appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Friday 10 July via a video link.

The 31-year-old has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs (heroin and crack cocaine).

The charges relate to a stop and search at Warrington Central Station in Winwick Street.

It occurred shortly before 11am on Thursday 9 July.

Shield has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday 7 August.
