Man charged after seizure of 10 kilos of suspected cocaine on M62

Reminder to people to abide by current lockdown regulations after nine people fined at Knowsley party

We have arrested and charged a man following the seizure of around 10 kilos of suspected cocaine on the M62 yesterday, Tuesday 20 April.

At around midday, a Ford C-Max was stopped between junction 9 and junction 8 of the M62, near to Warrington. A search was carried out and around 10 kilos of suspected cocaine in wrapped parcels was found, and seized.

33-year-old Scott Patel of Oldham Road, Manchester was arrested, taken to custody for questioning, and has now been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. 

Patel was remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court today, Wednesday 21 April.
