A man has been charged following an assault on Cheetham Hill Road, Dukinfield, on Saturday (22 January 2022).
John Verhiest (DOB 30/03/1978), of Sandringham Drive, Dukinfield, has been charged with a Section 18 Assault and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Tameside Magistrates this morning (24 January 2022).
Police were called shortly after 12:05am on Saturday to a report of an assault with a hammer on Cheetham Hill Road in Tameside.
Emergency services attended and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
