Man charged following series of commercial burglaries in Ellesmere Port

Appeal after boy has his bicycle stolen in Widnes robbery

Detectives from Ellesmere Port have charged a man following a series of commercial burglaries across the town.

James Elias, of no fixed abode, Birkenhead, was arrested on Wednesday 4 November.

The 35-year-old has since been charged with three counts of burglary, as well as attempted burglary and theft from a motor vehicle.

All of the charges relate to incidents in Ellesmere Port which occurred between Sunday 1 November and Wednesday 4 November.

In addition to the burglary charges, Elias – along with Faye Barlow, of Borough Road, Oxton, Wirral – has been charged with two counts of shoplifting.

Barlow, 27, has also been charged with handling stolen goods.

Those charges relate to incidents which took place between Sunday 18 October and Wednesday 28 October.

Elias has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 4 December.

Barlow has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 4 February 2021.
