Man charged in connection with assault of two men in St Helens

We have charged a man in connection with the assault of two men in St Helens on Monday, 14 September.

Shortly after 8.15pm, officers were called to Crab Street by the ambulance service to reports of two men in their 30s being assaulted.

Following enquiries, two men were arrested and taken for questioning.

32-year-old Shawn O’Malley of Withers Avenue, Orford, has been charged with two counts of section 18 wounding, two counts of false imprisonment and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He has been remanded in custody to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday, 23 October 2020.

A 33-year-old man also arrested has been released on conditional bail.
