Man charged with attempted murder in connection with Orford incident

Spate of reports of young people riding motorised bikes in Ellesmere Port

A young man has been charged in connection with an incident in Warrington.

Anthony Morris was arrested on Grantham Road in Southport on Sunday 27 April. The 22-year-old has subsequently been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Morris, of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 29 April.

A 53-year-old man was also arrested has been released without charge.

The charges relate to an incident, which took place at 8.50pm on Friday 24 April in Poplars Avenue, Orford, where a 55-year-old man sustained serious injuries.

The man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
