Man charged with drugs supply in Southport

We have charged a man with the supply of cocaine after a car was stopped for being uninsured by the Southport Local Policing and Targeted Team.

At around 2pm on Monday 12 December, officers stopped a car on Benthams Way because the vehicle was uninsured.

Suspected Class A drugs were found in the car and two men were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug.

Anthony Holmes, 39, of Hall Street, Southport, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug (cocaine).

He appeared at Wirral Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 13 December and was remanded in custody to appear at Crown Court.

A 39-year-old from Southport was also arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled Class A drug and released under investigation.
