Appeal for information following stabbing incidents in Sefton

We’re appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in Kensington on Wednesday, 14 April.

At around 9.10pm, emergency services were called to Prescot Road to reports of a collision involving a Renault Clio and a pedestrian, a man in his 50s. The pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The driver, a 41-year-old man from Croxteth, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and drug driving and was taken to a police station for questioning. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Constable Joey Pereira from Matrix Roads Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries are ongoing in relation to the incident and we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and captured on dashcam or other means the movements of the car before or during the collision.

“We believe that the car travelled along Kensington away from the city, passing McDonald’s and through the junction of Sheil Road onto Prescot Road where the collision occurred. Any information or footage could be vital to the investigation so please come forward.”
