Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Steve Wright, said: “The story of William Beaumont is a fascinating one. As the very first mayor of Warrington, following its incorporation as a municipal borough, he played a key role in shaping our town into the place it is today – including founding our municipal library, which was the first rate-aided library in the UK.
“If you’d like to find out more about this most influential of Warrington figures, please join us at our special event. Everyone is welcome!”
