Officers ask that local residents search their gardens as they continue the search for a missing man from Oldham.

Michael Sutton, age 69, was previously last seen on Grimshaw Street in Failsworth at around 9pm on Friday 5 February 2021.

Officers reviewing CCTV footage believe that Michael was later sighted on Ash Street in Failsworth at around 1.45am on Saturday 6 February.

Michael is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall and very slim. He was last seen wearing a khaki coloured coat with a fur hood, black trousers, and black shoes. He is known to often collect discarded nitrous oxide canisters.

Michael may appear confused as he suffers from dementia. He enjoys walking in the local area and officers are asking that anyone in the Failsworth area please search in their gardens or sheds and contact police if you find anything that may assist us with locating Michael as it is believed he may be taking shelter

Michael’s daughters, Megan and Jo, said: “Thank you to everyone who has shared this appeal so far. Your support means so much to us and our family. We’re all desperately worried about our dad, and are hoping that he is found safe and well as soon as possible.

“He doesn’t have his phone or bus pass with him, so we’re concerned that he might be lost and unable to make his way home. If you know anything at all about where our dad might be, please get in contact with the police so he can be brought home safely to us.”

In line with the current Covid guidelines officers strongly advise that people do not approach Michael but instead contact police on 999.

Anyone with information about Michael’s whereabouts should contact police on 999.
