We have arrested three people this morning, Thursday 6th May, on suspicion of conspiracy to import and supply Class A drugs.
Arrests were made and searches conducted at two addresses in the Sefton area and another in the Wavertree area of Liverpool as part of the national Operation Venetic.
Those arrested were a 32 year-old man from Wavertree, a 35 year-old man from Waterloo and a 40 year-old from Netherton.
Approximately £13,000 and a kilo of cannabis was seized at the address in Waterloo; approximately £30,000 cash (pictured below) was recovered from the search in Netherton and approximately £6,000 cash, Rolex watches and an Audi Q7 were seized from the address in Wavertree.
Detective Inspector Lee Wilkinson said: “Today’s arrests comes as part of a national investigation into the use of encrypted mobile devices, commonly referred to as encrochat, and drug supply across the UK.
“We will continue with our work because we know the impact that drug supply, its associated criminality and the people responsible for importing it has on the communities of Merseyside.
“We cannot do this without the help of the public and would urge anyone with information on the supply of drugs or individuals involved in serious and organised crime, to please get in touch, either directly through us or through Crimestoppers, completely anonymously.”
