Police appeal for information following a collision involving a teenage boy in Wigan

Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Wigan during which an elderly woman was injured

Police are appealing for information following a collision in Wigan, which has left a teenager with serious injuries.

Officers were called after a collision that occurred on Monday 15 March 2021, at around 3.35pm on the A58 Lily Lane, close to the junction of Warrington Road.

It is believed that the collision involved a cyclist and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian – a 15 year old boy – was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, and remains there in a stable condition. 

The cyclist failed to remain at the scene.

No arrests have been made and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Andrew Page, of GMP’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “We believe someone may hold information that may be able to assist us with our ongoing enquiries after a young boy suffered serious injuries.

“He continues to make his recovery in hospital and our thoughts are with him and the family at this time.
