A man was assaulted by two men and had his property stolen.

Two men aged 22 and 26 have since been arrested in suspicion of robbery and have been remanded in custody.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to this incident to please make themselves known to the police.

PC Georgia Roberts of GMP’s Neighbourhood Crime Team said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked attack and Greater Manchester Police are committed to seeing those responsible are held to account.

“We’re appealing for witnesses and are particularly interested in speaking to a woman who bypassed the incident which occurred in Sackville Gardens in Manchester city centre.

It is believed that the suspects approached a group of people and pretended to blend in with them so that the police would assume they were all together. A blonde haired woman from that group then approached the police and pointed out the suspects. This same woman lead the officers to the unconscious victim where he could receive the help he needed. She may have witnessed something that could help with our enquiries.

“If you are this person or you have information that could help with our investigation please call 0161 856 4305 quoting 526-07012023.”
