At around 5.35pm on Thursday 18 June 2020, police were called by the ambulance service responding to reports of a stabbing at a business park off Hamilton Road, Manchester.

Officers attended and established that an 18-year-old man had been chased from Hamilton Road on to the business park by four offenders and, subsequently, assaulted.

The offenders fled the scene on foot – turning left on to Hamilton Road, after being disturbed by a member of the public.

The victim was taken to hospital with arm injuries but has since been discharged.

An investigation is underway.

No arrests have been made.

At the time of the incident, the offenders were wearing dark clothing, with their hoods up, and surgical face masks. One of them was carrying a machete.

Detective Inspector Stephen Wiggins, of GMP’s City of Manchester district, said: “This was a violent assault which left the victim with multiple arm injuries and requiring hospital treatment. Hopefully, he will make a full recovery.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are particularly keen to trace the member of the public who disturbed the offenders.
After reviewing CCTV, we believe that, around one hour earlier, the same four offenders interacted with a male and female near the factory-type buildings on Hamilton Road – we’re also keen to trace them. I stress that these individuals are not in any trouble but we believe they can assist us with our investigation.

“I would like to use this opportunity to say that anyone else with information should contact us without delay.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 4409 quoting 2026 of 18/06/20 or the independent charity – Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
