Police investigating theft of memorial statue in Birchwood appeal for information

Police investigating the theft of a memorial statue at a graveyard in Birchwood are appealing for information from members of the public.

The statue was stolen from All Saints Church on Hey Shoot Lane sometime between 2pm on Monday 16 May and 9am on Friday 20 May.

It is described as around 3ft in height and has a metal sundial attached to it.

PC Matt Hankin, of Warrington local policing unit, said:“The family the memorial statue belongs too has been left distraught that someone has stolen it from them.

“It has been at the graveyard for at least 18 years and is hugely sentimental to them.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may hold information that could help in identifying who has stolen the statue and hope to be able to return it to them.

“If you can help with our investigation either with information, CCTV or dash cam footage within the local area or perhaps saw someone acting suspiciously please do get in touch with us.”
