Police issue CCTV appeal following assault in Warrington

Police have issued a CCTV image of a man that they would like to speak to following an assault in Warrington.

At around 9.40pm on Saturday 30 July, two door staff, a man and a woman, were outside a social club on Phipps Lane, Burtonwood when they spoke to a man.

He became verbally abusive before striking both to the face and fleeing the area in the direction of the Co-Op shop.

The door staff sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Officers are now appealing to anyone who may be able to identify the man to come forward.

Police Constable Vicky Taylor said: “There would have been many people in and around the venue at the time of the incident and we are doing all we can to find the person responsible.

“Thankfully, the victims only sustained minor injuries and were able to continue with their work.

“There are a number of enquiries underway and as part of these, we are issuing an image of a man that we would like to speak to as we believe he will be able to assist us with our investigation.

“If you recognise him, or the man himself, please come forward.

“We are also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or may have dashcam footage in the area around the time of the assault to get in touch with us.”
