Reminder – Warrington Walking Day postponed

Warrington Walking Day 2020 has been postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Warrington residents are reminded that this year’s Walking Day has been postponed until next year.

The council announced that the event, which was due to take place on Friday 3 July, was postponed to protect the public and to ensure council resources can be dedicated to maintaining essential services. The council has liaised with local churches to agree the decision to postpone.

Council Leader, Cllr Russ Bowden, said: “A huge amount of planning and organising goes into Walking Day, and this takes a great deal of officer time and resource. With the current crisis we are all facing, we had no other choice other than to postpone the event until 2021.”
