Northwich Road swing bridge in Stockton Heath will be closed for a number of hours on Friday 6 November, to allow urgent repair works to be carried out.
The works, which will be undertaken by Peel Ports, will commence at 10am and are expected to be completed in the early afternoon.
A diversion route will be in place via Walton Road and Chester Road while the work is carried out. In addition, any temporary traffic signals on Chester Road will be suspended during this period.
Peel Ports’ workers need to slightly swing the bridge to carry out the repairs. The work also involves lifting operations at the side of the abutment. It is, therefore, necessary to carry out the work in daylight to ensure the safety of the workforce and the general public.
