There is a full programme of festive events at the Brindley Theatre, Runcorn, this Christmas, which includes some much-loved festive films to watch in the Studio.

On Wednesday 20 December at 7pm, the Tim Burton classic The Nightmare Before Christmas is showing. Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, is bored with doing the same thing every year for Halloween. One day he stumbles into Christmas Town, and is so taken with the idea of Christmas that he tries to get the resident bats, ghouls, and goblins of Halloween Town to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween — but alas, they can’t get it quite right.

On Thursday 21 December at 7pm, you can see Bruce Willis in Die Hard. A New York City police officer tries to save his estranged wife and several others taken hostage by terrorists during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles. Is it a Christmas film? Yes, it is!

Friday 22 December at 7pm sees a screening of the much-loved White Christmas starring Big Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen and on Saturday 23 December at 2pm, a young boy embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole in the Polar Express, where learns about friendship, bravery and the spirit of Christmas.

The Muppets present their own touching rendition of Charles Dickens’ classic tale in the Muppet Christmas Carol starring Michael Caine on Saturday 23 December at 6pm.

Finally, on Christmas Eve, Sunday 24 December, the ultimate Christmas film It’s a Wonderful Life, starring James Stewart, is showing in the festively decorated Brindley Studio at 1.30pm. The ticket price for this film includes seasonal refreshments.
