ST HELENS CLASSIC CAR SHOW TO ROLL UP IN ST HELENS THIS SEPTEMBER

Gear up for a turbo weekend, as the annual St Helens Classic Car Show returns to St Helens town centre this September.

Organised by St Helens Borough Council and the St Helens Classic Car Association, the free event will see memorable motors from years gone by line-up in Church Square, with awards handed out for best vehicle.

The St Helens Classic Car Show has been a prominent annual attraction in St Helens Town Centre for a number of years, drawing in crowds of people of all ages who can get up close to an array of eye-catching cars, motorbikes and other types of vintage vehicles.

Meanwhile, Wonder arts will also be taking over Church Square for a day of fun.

The local charity will fill Church Street with wonder for a day of outdoor theatre which will capture the imagination of the whole family. Families are invited to join Mole, Ratty and Badger in a floor stomping, live music, hilarious re-telling of ‘The Wind in the Willows’, they can cook up a stink at ‘The Rascally Diner’, experience the dynamic and thought provoking ‘Distant Drums’ and get creative building bamboo structures with ‘Bridge to Bamboo’.

Encouraging residents to attend, Councillor Anthony Burns, St Helens Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Wellbeing, Culture and Heritage, said: “The St Helens Classic Car Show is always a great occasion, and with Wonder in the Street also happening that day means double the fun.

“If the turnout is anything near like what we’ve had in previous years, it’s sure to be a fantastic day and one that all the family can enjoy.”

The St Helens Classic Car Show will take place in Church Street between 10:00am-4:00pm on Saturday 3 September, while Wonder in the Street will get underway at 10:30am and finish at 4:00pm.
