It has been confirmed that Mayor of Liverpool Joanne Anderson has tested positive for Covid-19.

The Mayor has contracted the virus even though she was following social distancing guidelines, wearing a face covering, and had received both doses of the Covid vaccination.

The Mayor is recovering at home whilst managing to carry out some of her work duties.

Mayor Joanne said: “I’m feeling tired at the moment, but I’m relieved that I made sure that I was fully vaccinated as soon as possible or the symptoms could have been much worse.

“If you’ve not yet had your jabs, I urge all of you to do the same.”

Council colleagues and fellow councillors wish the Mayor a speedy recovery.
