Statement – The LECCY

Statement – The LECCY

We have been informed that Robin Hood Energy has been sold by Nottingham City Council to British Gas.

This decision affects customers of the LECCY, who get their electricity and gas through Robin Hood Energy.

Customers of the LECCY will be transferred to a different energy supplier at a future date and their energy supply will be protected. If they wish to transfer to British Gas, they do not have to take any action. Prices will be the same or better. All customers will receive a letter shortly and do not have to do anything now

There is no negative financial impact on Liverpool City Council, as the council did not acquire a stake in the firm. The council did benefit from a total of £75,000 in new customer reward fees from Robin Hood Energy, which was used for hardship schemes including fuel vouchers for those affected by the benefits cap and a summer lunch scheme for children.

Robin Hood Energy has published information for customers affected at www.robinhoodenergy.co.uk/britishgas. Customers who require additional information can call 0800 023 4171.
